Do you know what says when a customer asks about your industry?

Find out in two minutes. Apoda measures how your business ranks in the main artificial intelligence engines through Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): we ask ChatGPT the questions your customers would ask — without naming you — and send you what it answered.

Real measurements

The same question, two engines, two answers.

This isn't a mock-up: these are two runs of our own engine on our own business. The question doesn't name it — that's how Apoda measures. These were measured in Spanish, the language that business's customers search in, so the answers below are shown as the engines gave them, with an English translation.

Which answers your business appears in, in what position within the answer, and with what sentiment. For sentiment, we keep the exact sentence that justifies it, so you can check it instead of trusting the label.

What moved the needle

We log every intervention we make, with its date, and mark it on the trend line to see what happened next. Without that, a number that rose on its own is indistinguishable from one that rose because you did something.

Execution

And then we execute it.

This is where a monitoring tool's job ends and ours begins. With the data in hand, we make the changes.

The technical side

Making sure the AI companies' bots can read your site, that the pages that matter are indexed, and that nothing critical depends on JavaScript to exist.

The content

We write and rewrite the pages that answer the questions you don't show up for, in the format the engines cite.

The sources

We identify which third-party pages each engine is citing for your category and work to get your business into them.

The shift

Search stopped being a list of results.

Three things changed at the same time, and none of them is solved by the strategy you had written down last year.

It no longer starts at the search engine

Your customer asks an assistant and gets an answer, not ten links. If your business isn't in that answer, it doesn't exist for that decision.

The one that matters is the discovery question — “which one should I choose” — where the customer doesn't know you exist yet. That's where most businesses disappear, big ones included.

Being mentioned doesn't mean being recommended

An engine can name you as an example of what to avoid, or list you third behind two competitors. A mention on its own says nothing; what matters is the position, the sentiment and the exact sentence.

The answer changes with language and location

What ChatGPT answers in English and what it answers in Spanish come from different sources; many are pages your customer will never see.

And location moves the answer too: the same question can name different businesses in Miami than in Orlando — or in Miami in English than in Miami in Spanish.

How we measure it

Three runs, one range

We measure each prompt three times per run and report the range, not a daily number that moves on its own.

The process

Four steps repeated every month.

It's not a report that arrives once and gets filed away.

Step 01

We define the questions

We build the prompt set from your Search Console, your category and your competitive set. You don't have to come up with them.

Step 02

We measure

On a regular schedule, across several engines. We record mentions, position, sentiment and cited sources.

Step 03

We intervene

We execute concrete changes to your content, your structure or your sources. Every intervention is logged with its date.

Step 04

We measure again

We compare before and after. When a change can't be attributed with certainty, we say so. It happens often, and we'd rather say it than invent a cause.

Plans

Pricing

You can stick with measurement alone. But what moves the needle is the work nobody is doing with that data.

FAQ

What people ask us before getting started.

Is this SEO?

They overlap, but they're not the same. SEO optimizes for a search engine to show your page in a list of results; GEO optimizes for an answer engine to name you inside the text it generates.

Now, the honest part: much of what moves the needle in GEO is authority and content, not tricks. That's why Apoda's action plan includes work any SEO agency would recognize right away — and why you should be wary of anyone selling you a secret lever.

Are GEO, AEO and AI visibility the same thing?

Yes. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) name the same work: getting an AI assistant to mention your business inside the answer it writes. Both acronyms exist because they come from two different conversations — GEO from academia and generative models, AEO from the SEO world — that ended up in the same place. «AI visibility» is the plain-language way to say it.

Apoda uses GEO as its main term and AEO as a synonym. If someone offers you GEO and AEO as two separate services at two separate prices, it's worth asking exactly how they differ.

Do you compete with my SEO agency or complement it?

We complement it. Your agency works on what happens on the results page: what content you produce, what position you hold, what links you earn. We work on what happens inside an assistant's answer: whether it names you, where in the text, with what sentiment, next to which competitors, and citing which sources.

They're two different surfaces that share inputs. In practice, we pass your agency the findings that help them, and we execute what falls outside their scope.

How do I know the AI mentions my business if I can't check it myself?

Because we keep the evidence. Every run is recorded with the exact prompt, the engine, the date, the time and the full text of the answer. We don't hand you a number: we hand you the answers, and you can read them one by one.

The same goes for sentiment. When we report that an engine speaks well or badly of your business, it comes with the exact sentence that says so. A label you can't audit is worth nothing.

This also covers the uncomfortable case: when an answer says something wrong about your business, the text is right there.

Can a sale be attributed to a mention in ChatGPT?

Partially, and it's worth knowing why. ChatGPT adds utm_source=chatgpt.com to the links in its citations, so that traffic arrives labeled. The other engines rely on the referrer, which gets lost when the link is opened from a mobile app: that traffic lands in your analytics marked as direct.

That's why we report three things separately: visible, labeled traffic; an estimated range of dark traffic; and the increase in branded searches. We call that a signal, not attribution. Anyone who promises you exact attribution from a mention to a sale is selling you a certainty that doesn't exist today.

Source for the utm_source detail: OpenAI help center, Publishers and Developers FAQ.

Why does the language you measure in matter?

Because the pages an engine cites when it answers in Spanish are not the same ones it cites when it answers in English. Measuring with prompts in the wrong language gives you a portrait of a different market.

So we measure in the language your customers actually use. For a business in South Florida that sells to both English and Spanish speakers, those are two different answers — and it's common to show up in one and be missing from the other.

What if my business doesn't show up in any answer?

It's the most common starting point, and it isn't fixed in a month. We say so before you sign.

The first step is ruling out the mechanical problems: checking whether the AI companies' bots can read your site, because a surprising share of businesses are blocked without knowing it. Then comes the structural part: seeing which pages the engines cite to answer about your category, and what those pages have that yours doesn't. It's almost always one of two things: the answer to your customer's question doesn't exist on your site, or it exists buried in a page about something else.
